Hi,
I was born to a devoutly Muslim family and used to be a practising Muslim. However over the past 2 years, on the basis of my observation and detailed readings, I\'m finally convinced that the Quran can\'t be the word of GOD. When I read through the Islamic texts of Hadith, I was shocked that there are aspects in Islam\'s prophet\'s life with which no civilized human being can ever agree, and yet Muslims consider him the best example to follow. Islam\'s prophet married a 9 year old girl and this is such an abominable crime with which no civilized human being can agree! There are so many other other horrible examples which any human being with a moral compass would find abhorrent. Inhuman Islamic laws such as stoning for adultery, death penalty for apostasy are practised in Islamic countries, where human life has no value and women are treated as inferior to men. Islamic ideology is medieval, outdated, outmoded and has no place in a modern society.

I will be celebrating my 27th birthday in a few days and as I enter into a new year of my life, I think it is time to renounce religion openly. I just can\'t explain how uneasy I feel living with something I no longer believe in. I love life, humanity, aspire to use my education, skills to make this world a better place. I simply do not want to be identified with this cruel anti-mankind religion any longer. The CEMB is doing a great job by providing a forum for Ex-Muslims and taking a stand against the brutality of this religion.
