Statement

I am Imran from Dhaka, Bangladesh studying finance at university of Strathclyde. I was born and brought up in a moderate Muslim family in Bangladesh. For last 15 years, I have tried to be a good moderate Muslim encouraged by my father and grandfather to read explanation of Islamic theology from the view point of Muslim theologians. In those years, I thought that I was a very rational Muslim who believed in the only true religion. I was a very rational guy in every aspect of my life, but when it came to religion I surrendered myself to the hand of belief without any rational thinking. But, a few months later when I have seen the other side of the coin, I tried to free my mind to reason my religious belief from every aspect of life and other religious belief. I found that a person from another religion thinks exactly like me about his/her religion. Then I questioned my belief, I tried to reason it from scientific perspective and I found out that religion is just a mere man made thing to keep society under control for some people of that society. Now, I consider myself a free thinker who appreciates truth and is searching for truth with scientific facts and reasoning. Hope it would give you a brief picture of my non-belief in religion. I have also attached a photo of myself though it is not a recent one.
