Statement

I am applying to join the Ex-Muslim UK organisation because I believe in the importance of providing a safe, supportive, and empowering community for individuals who have left Islam. This organisation plays a critical role in advocating for freedom of thought, conscience, and expression—values that deeply resonate with me on a personal level.

As someone who has gone through the complex and often isolating journey of questioning and ultimately leaving the Islamic faith, I understand how vital it is to have a network that offers both emotional support and intellectual solidarity. For many ex-Muslims, leaving the religion can result in social ostracism, family conflict, and even threats to safety. Knowing that there is a community that acknowledges these challenges and works to protect the rights and voices of ex-Muslims gives me a sense of hope and belonging.

Joining Ex-Muslim UK is significant to me not only for personal reasons but also because I want to contribute meaningfully to the broader conversation on secularism, human rights, and religious freedom. I admire the courage and clarity with which this organisation engages in public advocacy and offers refuge to those in need. Becoming a part of this mission is both an honour and a responsibility I would value deeply.

Thank you for considering my application.
