Hi I’m an Ex Muslim, now secular humanist. I left islam over a series of stages, mainly from reading more into Islamic scripture which gradually made less and less sense especially morally, in terms of human rights, and women’s rights, rights of religious and sexual minorities. Since leaving I feel more integrated and whole, where disparate parts of myself that had to be shelved, discarded or repressed came together and formed a more complete consciousness, a consciousness with ownership, authority and autonomy.

I’m telling my non Muslim friends and changing my religion status to “none” or atheist in forms. However I don’t tell my relatives yet, as I may be disinherited. I don’t have much to lose in losing their company since I’m not really seeing my relatives or have a Muslim community anymore.
I’d like to meet fellow exMuslims since I’ve discovred we have so much in common! I love watching ExMuslim Vlogs on YouTube, like Veedu Vidz, Sarah Haider, Ex Muslims of North America, Abdulla Samir, Apostate Prophet, etc. It’s reassuring to know we’re a growing community.
