Statement

I would like to get more involved with the ex-Muslim community in Britain, now that I am publicly out as an ex-Muslim, and feel safer to do so. I have been ex-Muslim for almost a year and a half now. I would classify myself as an agnostic atheist, as I do not believe in the concept of God or a higher being, but I cannot say with full certainty that a God does not exist. I write a blog in which I focus on human rights abuses and recently wrote a post on the cases of Dua and Dalal al-Showaiki to raise awareness of suppression of human rights in Islamic countries. Through joining the community I hope to interact with more ex-Muslims in my country/city, and I one day aim to set up an online magazine/newspaper run by ex-Muslims to talk about Islam critically, report on the human rights abuses that take place in Islamic countries and give voice to those who cannot speak for themselves, as I am aware of the great privilege I have as an ex-Muslim in a Western country.
