Statement

First of all. I am not an ex-Muslim - but I am an ex-Mormon, and the internal, intellectual struggle required to overcome the groupthink, to question the version of reality presented to one as "The Truth" from childhood, and the heroic exodus required, often reminiscent of Odysseus or Truman Burbank, at great psychological cost, are all similar.
I am a secular humanist, atheist ally.
I was born in 1969 in New York. My mother got me into Mormonism in 1980 when I was 11 and I didn't know any better. It took me 17 years until I intellectually woke up in 1997 and found my way out of the maze of Mormonism.
If there is anything I, as an American ally, can do to help, I make myself available.
