I am British Pakistani and I have struggled to free myself from my Islamic upbringing, but I don’t need a book or supposedly divine words to be a good person - I have meaning and morals without it. I am confident that my choice to leave Islam is the correct one but it is also isolating and it comes as a relief to have found a community that supports ex-Muslims.
