Statement

I am writing to express my sincere interest in joining the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain as a member and to share with you the significant personal significance it holds for me as a bisexual ex-Muslim girl living in Morocco. I am eager to contribute my voice, experiences, and dedication to the cause of promoting the rights, well-being, and visibility of ex-Muslims, particularly those facing challenging circumstances like myself.

As an individual who has questioned and subsequently left the Islamic faith, I understand the complexities and difficulties that arise when making such a personal and profound decision. Living in a predominantly Muslim country like Morocco, I have personally experienced the challenges and risks associated with leaving one's religious community and seeking a path of personal authenticity and freedom. The Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain represents an essential platform for individuals like me, providing support, advocacy, and a sense of community.

Moreover, as a bisexual woman, I am acutely aware of the additional layers of discrimination and marginalization faced by individuals within the LGBTQ+ community, both within religious contexts and society at large. Intersectionality is a critical aspect of my identity, and I firmly believe in the importance of creating spaces that recognize and address the unique struggles faced by individuals who navigate multiple forms of marginalization. Joining your organization would allow me to contribute my experiences and insights to help create a more inclusive and accepting society.

By joining the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain, I am eager to actively participate in advocating for the rights and well-being of ex-Muslims, promoting religious freedom, and challenging harmful practices or ideologies that perpetuate discrimination and oppression. I am particularly interested in contributing to initiatives that focus on supporting individuals who are contemplating leaving their religious communities, offering them guidance, resources, and a sense of belonging during their journey of self-discovery.

Furthermore, the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain's dedication to raising awareness, challenging social stigmas, and creating safe spaces for dialogue aligns strongly with my personal aspirations. I am inspired by the organization's commitment to fostering understanding, encouraging critical thinking, and promoting solidarity among individuals who have experienced the challenges of leaving Islam. By joining your organization, I hope to contribute to this important work and help empower others in similar situations.

In conclusion, I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to apply for membership in the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain. I believe that by sharing my personal experiences, supporting others on their journeys, and collectively advocating for change, we can create a society that respects the rights and freedoms of every individual, regardless of their religious or non-religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of contributing to the vital work of the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain and making a positive impact within the ex-Muslim community.
