After realising that something within Islam doesn’t seem right a few years ago, I have gone through immense self realisation and depression. Having been indoctrinated from birth into this cult, even with the fact that I have now left Islam, I feel a sense of isolation and loneliness as the stigma around leaving this cult within my family and community still haunts me to this day. I wish I could be open about this but being stuck in limbo between my own happiness and my family’s happiness, puts me in a rock and hard place. It would be amazing to join a community of like minded individuals who I can draw experiences from.
