I have been without my religion since I was around 18 years old. I have been an atheist for 3 years. Though I am yet to be completely detached from my Islamic way of life (my parents and my core family are all Muslims, although my family in a bigger picture is also partly Christian because of my grandmother\'s Dutch descent), personally I have left my identity as a Muslim and living a great free-thinking life without being bound to certain religious rules. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible in my country\'s administrative regulations to get rid of my religion status in my ID card; as long as I am a citizen I will still be attached to religion-concerning governmental rules. I want to join this community so that I can broaden my network and to know more about various experiences that the members here have.
