Resolution against blasphemy and apostasy laws, 11 December 2010
The conference condemns the charges of blasphemy and insulting Islam against Asia Bibi in Pakistan, of criticising religions and promoting atheism against Waleed Al-Husseni by the Palestinian authority, of apostasy against Syed Mosa in Afghanistan and in Iran sentences of death for charges of moharebeh (enmity against God) against at least 10 people.
Criticising religion is not a crime let alone worthy of the death penalty. This conference demands that the sentences be rescinded, that they be immediately and unconditionally released and that blasphemy and apostasy laws be abolished everywhere.
