Statement | I've seen a docu about ex muslims and saw the YouTube videos on your channel that showed brave women talking about their experiences. Huge respect for them. I'm born in the Buddhist culture and I feel attracted to Tibetan Buddhism. I love the quote of the Dalai Lama: my heart and my brain are my temples. My philosophy is kindness. I'm interested in this topic as today I had to think about islam and women. There's a handyman at the office and he always gets very angry when I, a woman, ask him something, even though I ask it nicely. Then he starts to scold at me. The bosses, men, can ask him everything. They see him as a poor guy and want to give him a chance. I've also noticed he has no respect for our kind cleaning ladies. He's a very traditional muslim guy who talks a lot about his faith. I've never experienced something like this before. I've met Sherpas and Tibetans here and they treated women with lots of respect. And the local people here also do not disrespect women. So the behaviour of the handyman is new to me. I was very shocked. |
