Palestinian Blogger must be immediately released The Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain condemns the arrest of the Palestinian internet blogger Waleed Al-Husseini by the Palestinian Authority for exercising his right to free speech. The Palestinian News Agency – Maan – confirmed on 7 November the arrest of 26 year-old Waleed who they only name by the initials W. H. in the West Bank city of Qalqilya claiming he has been criticizing religions and promoting atheism and has claimed Divinity on his Blog and on his Facebook page which has now been shut down. In defence of Lars Vilks and freedom of expression On Monday 7 June 2010 the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain, Germany and Scandinavia joined Lars Vilks in a press conference in Stockholm to condemn the threats and violent attacks against the Swedish artist who drew a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad. 8 March Seminar on Sharia Law in Britain a success A successful seminar was held on Sharia Law on Monday 8 March 2010 at Conway Hall in London to mark International Women’s Day.
