On Channel 4’s Dispatches: Lessons in Hate and Violence Statement of the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain and One Law for All Channel 4’s Dispatches: Lessons in Hate and Violence on Islamic schools in Britain confirms the urgency of addressing the question of faith schools. Whilst the teachings of hatred in these schools are not surprising, it is nothing short of scandalous that vulnerable children are left to the mercy of Islamists despite years of evidence of abuse and violations of child safety and protection rules. What is being taught at the schools profiled in the programme is what some of our members... Filed as: Press Releases |

This organisation is significant because it represents one of the most difficult things I must deal with in my life, and is the only effort in the UK to tackle the hardships of those in much worse situations than I.” Another ex-Muslim woman from the UK writes: “After 20 years of Islam, I finally gave up the prison for my... On Baroness Warsi’s comments The Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain considers Baroness Warsi’s recent comments about Islamophobia as an attempt to stigmatise critical scrutiny of Islam and stifle genuine debate. All religions should be scrutinised and do not deserve special treatment over any other beliefs, ideas or philosophies. Of course the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain strongly condemns all forms of racism, bigotry and violence, however we utterly reject any attempt to conflate these issues with valid criticism and debate about Islam and Islamism. Resolution against blasphemy and apostasy laws, 11 December 2010 The conference condemns the charges of blasphemy and insulting Islam against Asia Bibi in Pakistan, of criticising religions and promoting atheism against Waleed Al-Husseni by the Palestinian authority, of apostasy against Syed Mosa in Afghanistan and in Iran sentences of death for charges of moharebeh (enmity against God) against at least 10 people. Criticising religion is not a crime let alone worthy of the death penalty. This conference demands that the sentences be rescinded, that they be immediately and unconditionally released and that blasphemy and apostasy laws be abolished everywhere. Filed as: Press Releases |
